wedding planning

In Hong Kong, couples usually take studio portraits in wedding gown
and tuxedo before the wedding. They make pretty photo albums for the
portraits and enlarge the best ones to display at their new homes. I
have not seen a lot of wedding pictures actually taken on the wedding
day (except for the group photos).

In America, engagement photos are not commonly taken in wedding
attire. Americans make the pretty wedding albums out of the pictures
taken on the wedding day.

“If it is not taken in wedding gown, nor is for the wedding album,
what is engagement photo actually for?” I asked.

It is for the couple.
It is about the couple.
I realized it after we took our first engagement photos.

The pictures are ABOUT us. The pictures capture the chemistry between
us, which cannot be caught by saying cheese in front of the camera.

Thank our dear friend, Joey Ho, for taking such great pictures for us.

Pimples are popping out! I am kind of stressful about the wedding thing lately.

Preparing for the BIG day with a tight budget is not easy. THANKS to my dear friend, Helen, for helping me so much on the planning! Also thanks Louisa C. for the valuable information on the banquet in HK!

A large portion of the budget goes into the renting of the wedding place. As the budget is tight, a lot of compromises have to be made. Compromising unnecessary, retaining important elements, yet having a meaningful and memorable wedding is the key (and the headache).

Since we have a date in mind, I have been stressed about it’s availability. We need to head out to look at different venues with the price range and if we find the one that we love, we need to book it quick! (Louisa said it’s like fighting for the banquet on good dates in HK). I inquired for the availability of a beautiful place through email yesterday, and got the reply that the date is open. I feel the sun is shining on me!

Though it’s much direct to call for availability, I am too shy to call. This weakness of me makes the planning more difficult and adds more stress to me. I really need to overcome it. Maybe this is a good opportunity?
